Fall Is In The Air

Even though it still feels like the middle of summer, believe it or not the fall season is here. This is when the wind starts to feel cool and crisp and it’s almost like you can taste cinnamon in the air. The outdoors become so vibrant and colorful. Sooner or later the leaves will start to change colors and fall, the temperature will drop, and pumpkin spice lattes will be on the menu. What gets you most excited? The cozy sweaters or fall scented candles? Maybe all of the fall desserts and decorations? You could just simply be excited for Halloween and Thanksgiving and the holiday season to come. Whatever it may be, all of these things make you feel in the fall spirit.

There are so many activities that you can do during the season: some at home or some out in your community.

There are also many things you can do at home that are very budget-friendly. Baking is one of my favorite things to do during the fall and winter seasons. You can bake so many delicious desserts using fall flavors such as pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, cranberry, etc. You can watch fall themed movies with hot chocolate. Going out for an evening drive or roasting marshmallows is always a good option. If you celebrate Halloween, maybe decorating your home, watching scary movies, or going to a haunted house may sound more appealing. If you love sweaters, scarves, and jackets maybe shopping for a new fall wardrobe is right up your alley.  Of course there are many other at-home activities that you can do, but these are just to name a few.

There are so many local events that are happening in our community during the September and October months. If you love the fall aesthetic, you will love what’s going on. There is so much to choose from. Here are just a few:

As early as Wednesday, September 22nd at 5pm, there will be “First Day of Fall Wagon Rides” at Summerfield Farms, which is about 25 minutes from UNCG. Tickets are only $5! You will be able to ride in the wagon around the farm.

Summerfield farms is also hosting a “Fall Cookie Decorating Workshop” on October 3rd at 4pm. Those tickets start at $65. Also, Summerfield Farms is hosting a ‘Fall Music Fest” that’s happening on October 17th at 2pm. Tickets are $25, featuring Stephanie Quayle among other artists. Tthere will be food trucks and drinks, and things for children to do.

There are a few other things happening in Kernersville such as a “Fall Paint Class with Professional Artist Lindsey Stimpson” on October 1st at 6:30pm. Tickets are $35.

They will also have a “Fall Market” to showcase local craft vendors and artisans going on October 30th at 9am. Another big event is the “Fall Festival” on  Oct. 31st at 5pm. It will be free to the public.

Other various things will be happening around the area that you will have to be on the lookout for. I’m sure more events will be posted as the weeks come. You can find all of these events and more information at https://www.eventbrite.com/d/nc–greensboro/fall-festival/

There are so many activities that you can participate in and create long-lasting memories with your friends and family. Whether you decide to go out and soak in the season or stay in and create your own fun, enjoy the fall atmosphere.
