The Greensboro Swarm finished the week with a record of 1-1. On Wednesday, the Swarm defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (G-League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers) by a score of 118-102. The recent returnee Damien Wilkins led the Swarm in scoring with 20 points in a balanced team effort. On Friday, the Swarm were defeated by the Lakeland Magic (G-League affiliate of the Orlando Magic) by a score of 120-116. Damien Wilkins continued his strong rerun to the team leading all Swarm scorers once again with 28 points.

The Charlotte Hornets made a trade at the NBA Trade Deadline, but it was not what most fans expected. Despite all of the rumors, Kemba Walker was not traded and was actually named as an injury replacement for the All Star game. The Hornets did trade for New York Knicks center Willy Hernangomez. The Hornets traded reserve power forward Johnny O’Bryant, a 2020 and 2021 second round draft pick to the Knicks in exchange for the disgruntled big man. Drafted out of Spain, Hernangomez had a very strong rookie season last year for the Knicks and was named to the All-Rookie First Team. However, this season the Knicks had a surplus of big men on their roster which limited Hernangomez’s minutes and led to him demanding a trade. This addition should help the Hornets continue to make their playoff push.
