The Carolina Panthers suffered their first home defeat of the season as they fell to the Seattle Seahawks at The Vault by a score of 30-27 following a Sebastian Janikowski game-winning field goal. For the second consecutive week, Panthers place kicker Graham Gano missed a crucial field goal attempt to give the Panthers the lead, which opened the door for the Seahawks comeback. The third straight defeat now has the Panthers looking up to both Seattle and Washington in the wild card standings, as they both own the tiebreaker over the Panthers due to head-to-head victories.
The Charlotte Hornets sit at 9-10 currently, and are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Kemba Walker is continuing his supermax contract eligibility campaign as he still leads all point guards in scoring at 28.2 points per game.
In trade rumor news, the Hornets are reportedly interested in acquiring All-Star guard Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards. Washington appears to be headed for a full-scale rebuild and have reportedly made their entire roster available in trade talks. Adding Beal would give the Hornets the best backcourt in the Eastern Conference and likely propel the team towards the top of the conference standings.
Also, quick shoutout to Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey, it’s not you guys’ fault.
